Bravo for another great broadcast. Very inspiring news indeed about all the people in the rest of the world who got involved, and for Bill's take on the slowing population growth. Now I go back to grinding my teeth about political realities in the U.S. - that the Right seem to view all talk about protecting the environment as some kind of whiney leftist conspiracy.

A fine discussion.

I'm struck by the nice, emergent dialectic between food and resource localism, with internet-based globalism.

And I second Joe's motion for a Stewart Brand show. Might go well with Howard Rheingold, too.

A great but terrifying interview. I downloaded the book to my Kindle when I got home after listening to this, and I have to say that it's even more terrifying than the interview. I really don't know what to say. I can't wait to read more about McKibben's solutions (such as they are), because they can't be worse than the alternative.

This interview made me wish for an episode with Stewart Brand. How about it?
