Can You Make RSS Display on WordPress?

Hi all, I’m trying to figure something out for the site — using RSS to display links in various places, perhaps an OPML tree of all of the blogs we’ve dug up — and I’m wondering if we have an expert in the audience. Anyone know about RSS, OPML and how to make them display in WordPress? I need some hand holding; if you’ve got a second, email me at brendan at this domain.

Much obliged.

I tried to email you, but I haven’t heard a peep so I’ll try right here.

What are you trying to do? Maintain an OPML file elsewhere and eventually import it? Is there a particular reason you don’t want to use WordPress’s built in Links functionality? (If you knew you could import an OPML would that change things? — I haven’t tried it, but I’d be happy to test it out on my own sandbox to see how well it works.)

I use magpierss (http://magpierss.sourceforge.net/) to pull RSS feeds into sidebars of various sites. I don’t think it would be that hard to start with an OPML file and get Magpie to handle the feeds included in it in some structured way.

You, presumably, have access to all kinds of ways to reach me. I’m happy to talk you through this, even if the place I talk you to is “this is what you want and I have no idea how to do that” (a possibility).

    Let me know.
