To me, the incorrect grammar and pronunciation suggest the kind of language errors very young children make. So maybe the captions appeal to us for the same reason our pets evoke nurturing, protective feelings in us: It&#039;s all about the neoteny, the traits that make use say &quot;Awwwwwww! Cute!&quot;</description>
