Behnam abu al Souf offers some wisdom at the end about Iraq today.Through the interview I was wanting to know more about the very oldest of civilizations, 6 thousand years old, and all that history after.

There was a wonderful exhibition, <a href="http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9B03E5DF173FF93AA35756C0A9659C8B63&scp=1&sq=%22Way+Way+Back+to+the+Dawn+of+the+Beginning%22&st=nyt" rel="nofollow">Art of the First Cities</a> at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in May of 2003 which sort of coincided with our "shock and awe" assault. Third Millennium B.C. from the Mediterranean to the Indus.

The MMA still has their wonderful interactive feature up:

It's good to hear that the greatest treasures are not missing- I assume from the archeological sites as well as the museum in Baghdad.
