London: Resources

On the Northern Line [Adam Stacey/Alfie's Moblog]

Sad news today. This morning our friend and colleague Joellen Easton pointed out how the media sources are now incorporating blogs and Flickr as direct links to firsthand accounts. We figured since our show tonight is not about the London bombings, we’d compile some links, share what we’ve been finding online. The photo you see to the left, released by Adam Stacey under a Creative Commons license, showed up all over the world.

This image taken by Adam Stacey. He was on the northern line just past Kings Cross. Train suddenly stopped and filled with smoke. People in carriage smashed tube windows to get out and then were evacuated along the train tunnel. He’s suffering from smoke inhalation but fine otherwise.

From another London blog:

All three of my routes to work were bombed this morning. Not just “I take buses, and buses were bombed”: my bus route, my train stations, and my tube lines were directly hit. I’m a very nervous bunny right now.

Right now I’m hearing reports of multiple explosions on buses and trains, multiple fatalities. I really hope it’s all just unnecessary panic and exaggeration.

Update 11.32am: Not just panic, not just exaggeration.
