Mary's Notes, April 30, 2007

I missed the official send-off for Brendan on Saturday night. As I understand it, a good and silly time was had by all. There were old interns and new and friends from the ROS online community. Brendan is gone, but surely not forgotten. Pics and audio clips to come.

For this week, Katherine is working on lining up some generals for an honest critique of how the Iraq war has been fought. David is looking into a French election show for Thursday as part of the Hurley-inspired proto-series on European identity. Chelsea flagged Atul Gawande’s piece in The New Yorker about aging and has booked Atul for next Wednesday.

The New Yorker‘s new web site is spiffy. We’ve been looking for good models for our new redesign. Got any to recommend? Speaking of new sites,

The Note is back. It’s not the look we’re after, but its Must-Reads are a good roundup of MSM political stories.

You probably read it but I will mention it anyway-David?- Tony Judt’s in the NYTimes in praise of Chirc and looking at who is coming next: “France Looks Ahead and it Doesn’t Look Good”. I thought was excellent. (Behind the firewall)

When I want a roundup, I often got to http://www.cursor.org

Again, the look is not to be envied, but I like the daily review.
