Show Suggestion Roundup, February and March

Hi all, a belated suggestion roundup covering February and early March. We closed commenting for this post, so start throwing stuff our way on the new show suggestion page for late March.

Avid: we saw this article by Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt. The authors are lying low because they sparked a storm of criticism. We’re working on it.

avecfrites, bookgirl, and Nikos: we are interested in online communities like MySpace and Friendster.

joel: we’ve been talking about doing a show about Internet architecture and regulation, and we’re still trying to figure out how to turn it into an hour of radio.

andycarvin: we’ve been following censorship in China for awhile (see The Great Firewall of China and Microsoft Censoring with China) and we’ll follow up on the current story.

p-labb: we like this stuff, too, but we aren’t thinking about doing another scientific innovation show at the moment. You can check out our recent show about Dangerous Ideas.

Michael Osborne: we’re thinking about doing a show on the impact of the highway system on America. Look out for it.

geopriest: we talked about preemption in Neo-Conservatism: The Last Throes.

WESIV, cheesechowmain, and gregbillock: a show on the Euro and the global market for oil could be interesting, but it is going to take more work.

zzAstier and Potter: Civilian nuclear energy and weapons proliferation are certainly big stories that we are following.

plaintext: we may gear up for a show on globalization soon with General Motors’ struggles in the news.

Khavurta: we are intrigued by the topic of Christianity in the Middle East. We’ll consider it as we work on upcoming shows.

cheesechowmain: we’ll order the book about squatters and urban poverty.

alokemon: David is working on a Genetics of Genealogy show.
