I never understood our policy towards Cuba which spans several adminstrations and never accomplishes anything except perhaps it has kept Cuba in that state of half paradise, half hell- a weird place as described. I thought for a few moments that The Buena Vista Social Club could change things. I have a book of Walker Evans photos "Havana 1933" which I just took off the shelf for my next free moments.
